TouchPoint Recruiting has been retained by SILICIS TECHNOLOGIES INC to assist in their search for a Software Engineer.

 

Silicis Technologies is a new robotics start-up that has successfully developed an Unmanned Aerial System for the Defense & Aerospace sector. We are moving quickly into initial commercialization looking for dynamic engineers to help launch the platform. The Unmanned Aerial System will be the first in a series of innovative robotics solutions developed in our fast passed, collaborative technical environment.

 

Job description: As a key member of the Silicis team, you will be responsible for development, execution and measurement of Silicis’ software. You will also be responsible for the continued integration and modification of existing software to improve performance and meet new platform requirements. This position will also work closely with other disciplines as needed in a team environment that includes other electrical, software, mechanical, and aeronautical experts all working toward the successful launch of Silicis’ initial UAV platform.

**Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Visa

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Designing, coding and debugging applications in C# for robotic platform and ground control applications

• Work closely with Electrical Engineers on electronics & low level system interaction

• Participate in software, electronics and systems design requirements/reviews for identification of metrics, system risk and reliability analysis

• Coordinate software system installation during final assembly and verify system functionality to ensure specifications are met

• Maintain standards compliance

• Support, maintain and document software functionality for internal use and field training manuals

• Perform multidisciplinary tasks in order to meet design/delivery requirements & timelines

• Full lifecycle application development

 

Preferred Skills:

• Software architecture and systems integration

• Knowledge of embedded systems & experience developing software that interacts with low level sensors and data

• Working knowledge of C and C++ languages

• Military/Defense/Aerospace experience

• Robotics development experience

• Track record of handling multiple projects with minimal supervision

 

Required Skills:

• BS or greater in Computer Science or Software Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

• Direct project experience & strong working knowledge of C# and the .NET framework

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, & participate in field testing of platforms

• Must be able to satisfy ITAR company requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel & Access
