The Agile Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to ensure that business and user needs are articulated as clear, detailed feature definitions and user stories for inclusion in the product roadmap and agile development lifecycle.  The Agile Business Analyst is a core member of one or more agile product teams and is a subject matter expert in the products that they support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works with product management and other product team members to document and groom product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria in an agile development environment
  • Understands user-centered design concepts and works closely with UCD Analysts to define product features that meet the needs of the user and the requirements of the business process
  • Collaborate with product management, the agile product owner, and other product team members to understand the vision and business value for the products they support, including the dependencies between systems and processes both internal and external
  • Work with the Product Owner and Technical Product Manager to manage a backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories
  • Contribute to the testing and validation of finished development work against documented acceptance criteria before release into production
  • Assist the application support teams with troubleshooting customer incidents and conducting root cause analysis as needed


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Ability to create user stories, process flows, and wireframes to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements
  • Excellent at conducting requirement gathering sessions and then concisely documenting their outcome
  • Superb attention to detail and a rigorous focus on delivering quality output
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to speak knowledgeably with members of both the business and technology teams
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings of analysis
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, relationship and presentation skills
  • Understanding of web development environments at a sufficient level to understand the implications of issues within web-based applications
  • Desire to take ownership, be creative with problem solving, and pro-actively secure the objectives of the users and business stakeholders
