Our client, a multinational company that develops, manufactures and distributes products for commercial vehicles, has commissioned Sterling St. James, LLP to source, screen and qualify candidates for a R&D Embedded Software Engineer position in their Kansas City location.
This is a fast paced position. You will be working in an environment that is in the early evolutionary cycle of driverless vehicles. It doesn’t get any more exciting than this. Ground floor – leading edge!
The company is looking for more than an IT guru. They are looking for a leader – a “take charge visionary” that can predict the future, ready the company for the demands and needs of the exploding technology of IoT and help them “BE the competition” not just “MEET the competition.”

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is an exciting opportunity at our Kansas City, MO location, for a Software Engineer – Embedded, who will be responsible for the development of vehicle dynamic and safety system software. Engineering of full software life cycle including concept, specification, analysis, design, implementation and test. We need a “visionary”.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS Engineering in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Three years previous experience in mobile applications required.
  • Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, or Heavy Equipment background preferred
SKILLS:
  • Strong ‘C’ programing language skills
  • C++’ Windows programing skills are beneficial
  • Use of ‘Safe C’ subsets e.g. MISRA
  • Understanding of real time systems
  • Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow experience
  • Understanding of compilers and linkers
  • Understanding of microcontroller hardware
  • Familiarity with emulators and debug tools
