The Sr. SDN Network Engineer should have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on network management implementations with a heavy focus on Cisco products and technologies, specifically a proven track record in designing, deploying and managing Cisco or similar vendor's software-defined networks (SDN) for the data center and in the enterprise; APIC-EM, ACI, IWAN and SD-WAN deployments.

Your unique role with us: Software Defined Networking (SDN) is the future of next level Enterprise Datacenter and Virtualization Solutions! The ideal Sr. Network Engineer should have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on network management implementations with a heavy focus on Cisco products and technologies, specifically a proven track record in designing, deploying and managing software-defined networks (SDN); APIC-EM, ACI, IWAN and SD-WAN deployments. This is a growth and leadership position for the purpose of winning and delivering solutions to end users and customers ranging from small business to Fortune 100 companies, including government and military branches. Your role in this position is a team lead who can be involved in project implementation, operation, and optimization of the technologies listed below.
  • Cisco Certified Professional (CCNP/CCIE)– Datacenter level certifications or demonstrated equivalent experience should include design, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting the technologies below
  • Design and implement IT solutions and service offerings at customer sites—locally, regionally, and nationally as well as provide feedback for improvement
  • Create high-level and low-level designs for areas of expertise
  • Review, validate, understand, and follow customer standards for design documentation.
  • Participate as a part of project leadership teams, and recommend process changes as needed.
Location Information:
  • Most Preferred: St. Louis, MO or Cincinnati, OH
  • Second Preferred: Near a major airport; preferably in Midwest
  • Open to at least 75% travel
Core Technical Skills:  Extensive, recent and significant, hands-on experience with the following minimum products\technologies:
  • CCNP/CCIE Datacenter or equivalent experience (certification preferred)
  • Cisco’s Application Centric Infrastructure (APIC-EM, ACI Stretch Fabric / Multi-Pod
  • Designing & Implementing IWAN and SD-WAN Technologies
  • Cisco Datacenter Networking Products including Nexus 2k/5k/7k/9k
  • Deploying Enterprise-class Networks including following products: Catalyst, ASR/ISR Routers, ASA Firewalls
  • Network Overlay Technologies (VXLAN, OTV and EVPN/BGP)
  • Network Security Tools & Networking Concepts
  • Experience with Spine-leaf (clos) Network Topologies
  • L3 Routing Protocols
  • Compute Virtualization Platforms: VMware, vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt)
  • Develop programs using REST API to a controller northbound interface
  • Software version management tools (Git/GitHub)
Highly Preferred Technical Skills: Candidates with experience and capability in the following additional technologies will hold a significant advantage in the selection process:
  • Practical Agile software development experience, preferably Scrum Master certified
  • Meraki Full Stack (Wireless, Switching, Security, and MDM)
  • Cisco Aironet w/ ISE
  • Extensive knowledge with a wide variety of SDN and automation products and architectures, beyond Cisco (POX, NSX, Open Daylight, OpenFlow, OpenStack, vRealize, Etc.)
  • Cisco UCS, Nexus switching, MDS storage fabrics, NetApp and/or EMC storage frames
  • Cloud Management Portals such as vRealize Automation, OpenStack, AWS, Azure
  • Integrating w/ public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
  • Manipulating RESTful API’s to programmatically automate manual tasks
  • Cloud ecosystem, products and solutions.
  • Adept with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python or similar—Java and C/C++ is welcome)
